Music Review

When I think of one of my favorite albums of all time the first thing that  comes to mind is The College Dropout by Kanye West. I love music and some of my best memories was listening to College Dropout with my sisters cleaning and dancing around the house. I truly enjoy how it was based off his life and him actually dropping out and one of the best parts of the album is  Last call . In last call he basically tells his story of making the album and what he had gone through trying to get put on. I enjoy his creativity throughout the album and how much it has inspired other rappers . Also I noticed J.Cole did something  similar in his song Note to self thanking people and letting what he feels about Forest hills Drive out. Which was crazy to know that J Cole and amazing huge rapper today being inspired by Kanye West.

Thankful

In our classroom I am thankful for Nyla David. She is one of my main friends in the classroom. I am thankful for her first off for her help in the classroom when ever I need help with something she will help me and if I ever forget something I can text or call her and she will let me know what we have to do . Another reason I am thankful for her is her smile lightens up the mood  she is usually real chill and I enjoy chill people cant deal with emotional girls that  seem dead in the classroom and bring down the mood . Last but not least she is a Chief Keef fan and I love Chief Keef Music , she is very funny, and she is the type of person you would like to be around and chill with.

A principle to keep

A principle to keep is to always be honest with others even if it may not seem good to tell the truth to someone because  they deserve to know. In many super hero stories they hide their true identities especially from the people they love because they feel  that person cant take it or is just not ready. The hero believes that he does this truly to protect his loved ones bu once they find out they are even more hurt then they would have been . Honesty may not always seem right but it is the right thing to do . Connecting to the book the father does not lie to his son when he ask questions like , will we die ? Although he does keep some things from his son he will tell the boy if he ask about something because he knows that he has a short time before he dies and wants his son to knowledgeable of whats going on , how to survive, and protect himself. Another principle to always be true to yourself do not feel scared of others to the point that they force or get you to do bad when you know in your heart that you are good. Don't ever let fear turn you into something your not . No matter what circumstances stay true to yourself. Fight for what you believe in and want to do be a leader and never a follower.

What did Margaret do ? blog 5

What Margaret does at the end of the short story , The short happy life of Francis Macomber, she ends up shooting and killing her husband Francis. Clearly she had done this on purpose not on accident trying to shoot a buffalo as said on page twenty eight. Early in the short story it speaks of how Margaret is all about her ranking in power and is known to be an addict towards successful man that help her " Yelp rating" meaning reputation. Margaret sees her husband as a coward throughout the beginning and middle of the selection knowing of his fear to kill a lion. An example of her focus on her yelp rating was giving Wilson a kiss and later after ending up having a one night stand with him do to his bold and brave reputation  as a hunter. Not caring of how Francis felt because she knew that he was just to cowardly to leave her. She ends up shooting becoming frightened of the thought of being left alone. Once she sees Francis leave his cowardly stage when hunting down the bulls and shooting them down with Wilson. She realizes that her husband is no longer a coward and is a Men and that Francis will be able to leave her if he wants to so automatically thinking of that basically puts her in shock not thinking clearly basically making sure that she doesn’t get left by killing him.

John Proctor the hero or the stooge?

WIlliam Jamison , Hero or Stooge?
A hero or heroine is a person that in the face of danger and adversity  or from a position of weakness, displays courage, bravery or self-sacrifice—that is, heroism—for some greater good, a definition from the source of Wikipedia. A stooge is a person who serves merely to support or assist others, particularly in doing unpleasant work. Two very diverse words that have totally different meaning. John Proctor is not the purest of the pure nor the worst of the worst. His decisions to not go to church making excuses because he does not like a certain person, not to baptize his child, and  commiting adultery with the whore of the town Abigail, shows that he is definitely not perfect.
In my opinion I do believe that he falls more along the hero side of things  because of his brave acts he had done. Telling truth about his affair with Abigail and committing adultery.  His choices at the beginning choosing not be faithful and create this whole mess pushes him towards being a stooge, but the deeper and deeper you go into the play you can tell that his goal is to bring Abigail and these girls to justice. Do to their outrageous blame game of vengeance that is corrupting the town. Though he did not succeed , ending up walking to his death . Then going back towards being a stooge by saying he is a liar and works with the devil basically asking to be hanged when he has children that need a father figure making his decision selfish.  Not signing his confession told the reader he wanted death. Through out the play John makes good and bad decisions keeping him between a stooge and a hero . I dont truly agree with his decision to die but it shows how he feels about whats going on in the town and all the talk around him.

BLOG #2

There Goes the Neighborhood"

William Jamison

Just got back from basketball practice drained week Four of college done and I don’t even have a roommate yet. Big and beautiful dorm all to myself. Finally getting to my dorm and hitting the hay , I think I'm going to sleep majority of the day tomorrow.  I sadly wake up to my door being beaten on at seven in the morning , all I'm thinking about is who is doing this to me. I ask who is at the front door and boy replies your new roommate. I open up the door and see a guy with tan pants, a soccer jersey and some all black  indoor cleats. He introduces himself to me his name is Carlos and his nationality is Mexican. Don’t get me wrong I was nice and interested in whatever he had to say but I was angry about having to be forced to only have one half of the dorm room. I showed him the basics of where the important things are like bathrooms and lunch area where you go and get food. But before any of that had occurred I went back to sleep, yet again waking up to a loud banging   noise. In the dorm Carlos had taken all of my basketball posters down and replaced them with his own of his favorite soccer players, My movies had been rearranged alphabetically and it was in type of genre article. To top it off he puts muddy cleats on my rug and is on the phone speaking Spanish extremely loudly. Seeing and hearing the horrific seen I had to have a talk with him about personal space and respecting each other's half of the dorm room. Now he is sure of what he can touch which is only his things and keeping his stuff on his side. Settling an agreement with him was not to bad but he still is on his phone late at night when I'm trying to sleep. From that week 5 we were both settled and used to each other. College life was back to being the usual and even though I do miss that space it was worth it and I am glad I got the experience of sharing my dorm.
